Here we are once again at the end of a week. It’s a good time for reflection.
This week was definitely interesting.
I found a babysitter for the kids at the last possible moment, celebrated the first birthday of my friend’s youngest of four girls, got dragged off to our local library’s AGM and became a member of the board of directors, got quite a bit accomplished at work my two days in the office, and the temperature has climbed from below -40 (with wind chill) to something much more reasonable this weekend. All of these are positives this week.
On the other side of the coin, I found out I have tendinitis in my shoulder, the power steering has failed in our brand new vehicle (and it was just in for regular maintenance and servicing on the 13th…), our 46″ LCD TV which was a Christmas gift two years ago has died, and the kids both seem to have bad colds including a rough sounding cough.
Really, my valleys didn’t seem as deep this week – at least not once my biggest obstacle, the babysitter, was overcome. I’ll admit, not having power steering when you’ve got a bad shoulder is definitely not fun, but it’s been manageable. The TV is definitely a luxury, and we have a small one we can use until we can either fix or replace the large one.
I could definitely do without the sick kids, but again, nothing terribly serious it seems despite Abby’s waking up in the middle of the night with a horribly sad sound and hardly any voice. She’s doing much better this morning.
But what about you?
How has your week been?
What can we celebrate with you or pray about with you?
